Discovering Love and Comfort: The Unbreakable Bond of Two Rescued Kittens

Bacon and Eggs, Two Blind Cats, Find Home Together

Introducing Bacon and Eggs, a delightful duo of cute eyeless felines who have found their forever home together! These two kitties, who were only six months old when they arrived at the Maryland SPCA, had infections and a genetic condition affecting their eyelids.

The veterinary team at the MD SPCA made the tough decision to remove the eyes of two cats to improve their comfort and prevent further infections. After spending several weeks in foster care to recover, the shelter turned to Facebook in search of a forever home for these special needs felines. The post garnered a lot of attention, with many people sharing their story on social media.

Thanks to the generosity of a donor named Mangy Lee, their adoption fee was covered with an additional donation. The cats’ foster mom and MD SPCA staff member, Alisa, shared that despite their lack of vision, Bacon and Eggs are just like any other social six-month-olds. They enjoy lounging on the couch and interacting with humans and other animals.

After some time to adjust, the two cats found their perfect match and were adopted together. Despite their blindness, the volunteer emphasized that Bacon and Eggs rely on their other senses to navigate their surroundings. The volunteer marveled at the cats’ resilience and adaptability, highlighting their ability to thrive without eyes. Thanks to the efforts of the MD SPCA and their dedicated supporters, Bacon and Eggs got a second chance at life in a loving forever home.

…and found the ideal spot to settle down and call their forever home side by side.
